Sam's First Game!

Sam played his first official football game today.  He played quarterback for the first half and then front line for the second half.  He had such a great time!  I think it helped that he scored 2 touchdowns!

Cousins

Larson's came to town to watch Gabe play in Hillcrest's first football game.  Well, Gabe woke up Friday with a bad neck and couldn't play..... bummer.  Here are a few shots of the game against Wheaton. It went into double overtime - we lost, but did a great job!!

Summer Vacation '08

Here are "a few" of my favorite pictures/memories of our summer vacation to Colorado this year.

This is the whole group (from CA, AZ, WI, CO and MN) that met up at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and stayed in a huge lodge together!  We all had many laughs, a little sleep, lots of coffee, plenty of meals together and loads of fun!!  I am looking forward to Mt Rushmore or where ever we are meeting next time!!!

This is a far off view of Long's Peak in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  14 of our guys attempted to hike all the way to the top.  5 made it all the way - 14, 559 feet above sea level!!!!

Bear Lake in Estes Park.

We "hiked" Danny all the way up to Alberta Falls!  That was quite a 2.5 mile jaunt one way!  We had to make our way up and over quite a few obstacles to get there but it was worth it!!

Dan could never have done all of this hiking on his arm crutches last year!  He had so much fun splashing through the water with all his buddies.  It was great!!

We headed to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs with all the cousins.  What a fun day!

Grandpa Win on his "retro" bike that he rides for 1/2 hour every morning.  Jake liked taking a spin with him each morning (Jake's bike looked a lot like G. Win's, only Jake's had a basket on it - hee hee  ).

                            Here's the family at Mt. Rushmore.  We just love that place!

I can't wait until our next vacation - making more family memories!

More Inspiration Point

Last week Sam, Dan and Taylor were all at Inspiration Point together.  T went to help out with Dan - what an awesome big brother.  As usual, they all had a GREAT time and have made more incredible memories, sang great songs and memorized a lot of Bible verses. 

Every year we have to take this picture of Sam by his "barking fish".  There's a bit of a story behind this, so I had to put this in the post for posterity's sake.

Swedes!

We had such a great time with our extended family from Sweden.  They were here for a week and we enjoyed every minute of it.  So glad the weather was great the whole time they were here - it made for great fishing for the guys!
